Die letzten Vectrons und 114er im Regionalverkehr auf der Kinzigtalbahn

Shortly before the timetable change, I found myself back at Hailer-Meerholz station, where I wanted to document the last runs of the Vectron and Class 114 locomotives in regional service on the Kinzig Valley Railway. The Coradia Max multiple units from Alstom were supposed to have been delivered long ago, but that hasn't happened yet. As an interim solution, Vectron (Class 193) locomotives were leased from Beacon. However, since their lease has now expired, a different solution was needed. The existing Class 114 locomotives aren't sufficient to replace the Vectrons. Furthermore, they aren't as powerful in terms of acceleration – which isn't ideal on the Kinzig Valley Railway. It's a very busy line, and the trains often block each other. I was able to document this several times in this video. So, with the timetable change, the Vectron locomotives and the Class 114 locomotives were withdrawn from the Kinzig Valley line and replaced by Class 146.1 locomotives. The Class 146.2 locomotives, which were already in service here, will remain in operation.
