Two trips each were scheduled for January 3rd and 7th, 2026, with locomotive 218 399. It was traveling to the Spreewald region to pick up a Schnabel car from a substation. So, I (along with Mrs. BeuteZug) went to Wirtheim, where we waited for the 218 despite the cold and snow flurries. Afterwards, we drove to the edge of the village of Bernhards (north of Fulda). There, we spotted the locomotive again. It was making a refueling stop in Fulda, which gave us the opportunity to overtake it. On the day of the return trip with the picked-up cars, we went back to Wirtheim once more.
