Knowledge-Sharing Session: Understanding Industrial Policy for Development
The Philippine Institute for Development Studies conducted a knowledge-sharing session on the World Bank report “Industrial Policy for Development” on May 18, 2026, at the PIDS Conference Hall and via Zoom. The session examined how governments used industrial policy tools to shape economic activity, support targeted industries, generate jobs, strengthen resilience, and promote long-term development. Drawing from evidence across more than 60 economies, the report also provided practical guidance on the design and implementation of industrial policies in the 21st century. Mr. Tristan Reed of the World Bank presented key findings and insights from the report, followed by a discussion with PIDS researchers and staff.
