How Can We Make Electricity More Affordable and the Power Grid More Reliable? | Public Webinar
The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) convened energy experts and policymakers to examine how the country can make electricity more affordable while strengthening the reliability of its power grid. The webinar featured discussions on electricity subsidy policies, transmission sector reforms, and the structural challenges affecting the Philippines’ energy security amid rising global fuel prices and increasing electricity demand. Presentations highlighted the need for better-targeted subsidies, stronger investment incentives, and faster grid expansion to improve efficiency, equity, and system performance in the power sector.
