Liga ACB: Magia Huesca - Caja de Ronda 26-3-1989 (Parte 2/2)

This was the sixth match of the second phase of the 1988/89 ACB Basketball League regular season, Group I, played at the Parque Pavilion in Huesca, with radio commentary by José Antonio Martín "Petón" and José Luis Trallero for Radio Heraldo. The Huesca team had brilliantly qualified for this second phase in the top group after finishing sixth in Group A1 with 11 wins and 11 losses, including impressive victories against teams like Real Madrid, Estudiantes, Joventut, and Taugrés, among others. They had started this second phase with equal strength, securing important wins against Cacaolat and Barcelona. However, they came into this match without the long-term absence of Joan Pagés, a loss that would be a significant blow in the final stretch of the season. Maintaining their 2-3 record and securing a top-six finish to qualify for the playoffs would be difficult. Meanwhile, the Málaga team qualified for Group I by finishing in the top two of A-2, specifically second with 16 wins and 6 losses. They entered this match with a 3-2 record in the second phase and were determined to wrest the title of season's surprise team from the Huesca side. The Huesca team, coached by Iñaki Iriarte, fielded David Solé, Juan Antonio Hernández, Brian Jackson, Granger Hall, Antón Soler, Alberto Alocén, Pepe Benedé, and Eduardo Sabater. For the Andalusians, led by Mario Pesquera and his basketball control, the following players participated: Fede Ramiro, Luis Blanco, Rafa Vecina, Joe Arlauckas, Ricky Brown, Jordi Grau and José Palacios.
