Day 12: Journey Continues: 4 Lakes, A Friendly Reunion & First Time Driving in the Dark! 🇦🇹🚙

Today was all about chasing the most breathtaking views Austria has to offer! After a solid breakfast, I hopped in the rental car for an epic road trip across four gorgeous lakes, filled with stunning cliffside roads and a few fun surprises along the way. Here is how the day unfolded: Lake 1: Fuschlsee & A Friendly Reunion: My first stop was the beautiful Fuschlsee. While grabbing a cup of coffee, I unexpectedly bumped into the Hungarian guy who had kindly helped me out the night before with my tyre trouble! It was such a great, friendly reunion. Lake 2: Wolfgangsee on a Budget: Next, I drove over to Wolfgangsee. I spent some time walking around, checking out a local flea market, and looking into taking a boat ride—but the prices were way too expensive! Instead, I grabbed a delicious ice cream and just soaked in the incredible views for free. Lakes 3 & 4: Attersee & Mondsee: From there, the drive took me alongside Attersee and Mondsee. Words can’t describe how breathtaking it was—massive cliffside drop-offs right next to the water and winding roads that just seemed to stretch on forever. The Search for Dinner: I detoured through St. Wolfgang and Strobl looking for a place to eat, but suddenly realized I was still about a 30-minute drive from my guesthouse and daylight was fading fast! A Budget-Friendly Find: I headed back toward my base and found an excellent, cost-effective restaurant and bar. I managed to score a fantastic starter meal for just 11 Euro and a Coca-Cola for 3 Euro—total win! Facing the Dark: To top off the adventure, I had to drive back to the guesthouse completely in the dark. It was my very first time navigating night driving while staying on the right side of the road with a left-side steering wheel! Made it back safely, completely chilled out, and went straight to sleep.
