Day 13: Scaling Rossfeld Panorama Strasse, The Ultimate Rugby Hunt in Salzburg 🇦🇹🏈🚙

What a jam-packed, hilariously unpredictable day in Austria! Day 13 took me from the soaring heights of the Alps straight into a wild goose chase through Salzburg trying to find the Springboks game, ending with a major personal milestone at a petrol station. Here is how this action-packed day went down: Mission to Rossfeld Panorama Strasse: I headed up the famous Rossfeld Panorama Strasse and it was absolutely breathtaking. Even though the clouds rolled in, I was standing over 1500 meters high taking in some of the most incredible mountain views! Dodging the Rain: The heavens opened up pretty hard, but the rain luckily cleared up just long enough for me to explore the gorgeous mountain range on foot. (Let's just say a certain slippery cow dung incident happened out there, but I'm keeping that as a surprise for the video! 🤫) The Epic Springboks vs. Wales Hunt: Being desperate to watch the rugby, I went on a massive mission to find a sports pub. I first tracked down the massive Augustiner Bräu Mülln (and laughed realizing I had accidentally driven all the way into central Salzburg after the mountains!), but no luck. Pub Chasing & Local Shopping: I then found Bada Bing, but they didn't open until 6:00 PM. To kill an hour and a half, I hit up a local DM store to stock up on some lekker Austrian goodies. Unfortunately, when Bada Bing finally opened, the owner told me they weren't televising the game. I tried hunting for an Irish pub next, but Salzburg parking was a nightmare, so I finally threw in the towel! A Major Milestone (Thanks Gemini!): A massive first for me today—I successfully put petrol in my rental car by myself! Coming from South Africa where we have amazing petrol attendants do it for us, I honestly had no clue how to even open the car's fuel cap. After a bit of a struggle, I asked Gemini for help, figured it out, and got it done! 😂⛽ Burgers & Moving On: After giving up on the rugby, I headed to Kuhls Bar for a well-deserved, delicious burger and chips while having a great catch-up over the phone with friends back home. To wrap up a beautiful, full day, I headed back to pack my bags.
