There's no power in the Gospel - Samantha Cadieux

Today I spoke with Samantha Cadieux, who grew up exposed to Catholicism and converted to Evangelical Christianity as an adult before ultimately deconverting entirely from all forms of Christianity. As we talked through her story, we discussed topics such as: • Going to Catholic school, doing the sacraments, going through the "stations of the cross," experiencing first communion, and being confirmed. • Feeling traumatized as a child by images of Jesus and the saints suffering. • Feeling that she needed something to fill life's emptiness, and thinking she'd found the answer in Jesus and the Gospel. • Wanting to have a sense of belonging, and then thinking she had found it via the church community. • Committing her life to Christ repeatedly. • Slowly admitting that the Gospel doesn't make any sense and that blood sacrifice doesn't have any power. • Facing the reality of the Bible's teachings about the fate of those who have never heard the Gospel, and the bizarreness and insanity of the doctrine of eternal conscious torment. • Understanding that original sin is not real and is an exceptionally harmful teaching. • The experience of being "born again, again" when she deconverted. • The importance of getting professional help when dealing with childhood traumas. Many thanks to Samantha to sharing her story with us! _________________________________________ Mentioned in this video:    / dragonsingenesispodcast      / mythvisionpodcast   _________________________________________ ** Please subscribe to my other channels ** (many more channels and videos coming soon!) https://linktr.ee/harmonicatheist _________________________________________ Tim may be reached by email at: [email protected] _________________________________________ Your support for my channel, Harmonic Atheist, is very appreciated.
