The Most Common Posture Problem Nobody Talks About
The most common cause of posture and movement related pain is a pelvis that is stuck forward on one or both sides, and a lumbar spine that has moved forward with it. This combination creates a state of increased lumbar spine (lower spine) extension and results in a state of systemic extension. This posture is exacerbated by prolonged sitting, especially while working on a computer or looking at screens. This extension posture leads to overactive and tight lats, pecs, and neck muscles and under-active hamstrings, glutes, adductors and abdominals. It also leads to compensatory non-diaphragmatic breathing. Overall this situation leads to a heightened state of "fight or flight" activity and an unbalanced autonomic nervous system. https://pritrainer.com/in-person-trai... https://pritrainer.com/on-line-consul... https://pritrainer.com/pri-left-aic-r... 0:00 Pelvis, sacrum, and lumbar spine introduction 0:47 When they get stuck forward, it is bad 2:20 When an online client has his "a-ha" pain-free moment 5:58 Postural testing that demonstrates systemic extension 9:50 Postural Restoration Institute technique to reverse systemic extension
