Exploring an ABANDONED $1.5 Million Lakeside Mansion (Massachusetts)

This lakeside mansion was built in 1941, with many subsequent renovations over the following decades. Today, it is valued at around $1.5 million, a testament to its prime location, acreage, and architecture. Aside from the mansion proper, the property boasts a mini private island out back, accessible only by a rickety wooden bridge. On this island, a small lakeside cabin sits nestled in the trees. Both structures exist as time capsules of a different era; likely abandoned sometime in the 2000s, many remnants of this time period are left behind, from personal computers to VHS tapes to flip phones. There are also many records of the old family left behind, including sentimental photographs and written records. Truly, this abandoned lakeside mansion is a beautiful property stuck in the past. Unfortunately, despite the intrigue this place holds, many vandals have defaced it over time; broken windows, graffiti, and destroyed property is a common sight when trudging through the trashed rooms of this once-beautiful mansion. Join me and my good friend and frequent collaborator Jesse as we explore this abandoned lakeside mansion, as well as the private island cabin! I had first been notified of this spot back in March 2024, but sadly did not have a chance to explore it last year; during that time, this location blew up in popularity, and many urban explorers visited it. This also resulted in the further destruction and degradation of the property. Now, nearly a year later, I have finally arrived to explore this fascinating property, albeit after many months of use by other urbexers. Still, I quite enjoyed my time here! Sifting through the many left-behind trinkets, records, and items was fascinating, and left me feeling very nostalgic for the past. While the mansion was built in 1941, it was likely abandoned in the 2000s, and many remnants of that era are still scattered throughout the many rooms and hallways. Also, the private island, connected only by a single wooden bridge, was fascinating to check out—almost like a summer home, right at home! Although it was a cold, snowy day during this visit, and the lake was frozen solid, I can only imagine how beautiful this mansion must look in the summer, amidst the glistening waters of the lake! Definitely one of the coolest urban exploration experiences I’ve had, and one of the most intriguing abandoned houses I’ve visited in Massachusetts! Shout out to Jesse for joining me!
