Despite being located within a busy suburban town in Massachusetts, this house is quite secluded. Excluding the bustling main road across from its front façade, this red-painted house is surrounded by dense forest on all sides, with no other nearby neighbors or buildings. It truly feels isolated, even despite the sound of cars honking and speeding nearby. I was personally captivated by this house's secluded location, which led me to explore it on more than one occasion; and now, I've decided to bring you all along with me! There is much that I find fascinating about this abandoned home, from the many items left behind inside, to the simple, yet quaint rooms that still exist within its interior. Likely built in the mid-1950s, this house is truly a time capsule of mid-20th century American architecture and home life. From the ornate, detailed wallpaper, to the homey living room with a stone fireplace and working Steinhart piano, to a kitchen with colorful cupboards, I thoroughly enjoy exploring this house each time I visit! The most interesting thing about this abandoned house to me is the massive yard, at least in proportion to the size of the house. The modest house is surrounded by a gigantic yard on all sides; there is a large looped driveway that circles around the front of the house, and an expansive backyard that reaches deep into the depths of the woods behind the house. There are also remnants of a once-beautiful garden on one side of the house, and another section of massive forested areas on the other side. Despite the house’s size, it truly possesses a massive property. A remnant of this property that can still be seen today is a rusted tractor, sitting out front. There is also a shed out back, still containing many pieces of garden equipment. Of all the abandoned houses I’ve explored, this is truly one of the most quaint and memorable! It’s no wonder that this place has become so popular within the New England urbex community!
