Somewhere in Massachusetts, an abandoned Lutheran church can be found, forgotten and neglected over the years. First built in the 1940s, this church has been abandoned for well over a decade, left to decay as it inadvertently attracts curious visitors. Like most abandoned buildings, this church suffers from the same forms of vandalism those do, namely heavy graffiti and trashed debris. Remarkably, however, much of this church is clean and intact. The beautifully vibrant stained glass windows are still preserved, beaming down on you as sunlight pours in, illuminating the colors. The pews, pulpit, altar, and piano can still be seen as well, looking exactly as they did before this church was abandoned. There are many rooms to explore, from the priests’ quarters upstairs, to the kitchen down below, and the coat room in the basement. This is a small, yet fascinating glimpse into a place of worship after the worshipping has ceased. This was my second time visiting this abandoned Lutheran church, nearly a year after my first time, and it still looks like how I remembered it. Joined by my friend and frequent collaborator crossthewords1221, we inspected every room, hall, and artifact left behind in this surprisingly intact abandoned church, and we had a blast doing so! As stated previously, this was my second time visiting in nearly a year—but not much has changed. There was still much to see, and I even noticed some new items that I had missed before. From a working piano upstairs, to several books of sheet music for choirs, to handwritten notes from local urbexers who have visited this structure before and after me, crossthewords1221 and I had so much fun investigating everything. Of course, with this being a church, we tried to remain reverent and respectful. Since neither of us are Lutheran, it was especially fascinating witnessing a church used by Lutherans—a sect of Christianity I am only mildly familiar with. This one of the most underrated abandoned locations Massachusetts has to offer! 00:00 J-MASS Intro 00:41 Introduction to the Church 02:41 Kitchen, Bathrooms, & Living Room 11:08 The Church 16:48 J-MASS Delivers a Sermon! 17:30 The Church, Continued 26:17 Side Rooms & Basement 29:24 Upper Floor Rooms 35:08 The Bell Tower 38:21 Outro
