Zion, Creekside Trail

Zion National Park, coming from the Visitors Center; at the first hair pin turn, before going uphill toward the tunnel, find The Creekside Trail turnout. Take your pick of parking spots, maybe a grab a picnic too. Hike up the welcoming canyon's relatively flat trail surrounded by many picturesque tall peaks to the slow trickling creek under the large shade trees. Often, we find water weeping down the canyon walls into the creek. A wonderful calming sound to complement our visit. Looking up the Canyon walls, notice the cars meandering upward and downward to and from the tunnel. In the evening is especially beautiful as we watch the head lights illuminate the walls and disappear into the tunnel. After the sun is finished painting the walls at twilight it becomes great quite place to stargaze.
