Grand Canyon, Hiking Maricopa Point to Bright Angel Trailhead

The Grand Canyon's Maricopa Point boasts a 180-degree view. One can often see from Hermits Rest to The Bright Angel Trail. Looking down; the Tonto Trail meanders along the canyon floor connecting The Bright Angel Trail to The Hermit Trail. The Colorado River rapids far below they say, can be heard from along the path. Hiking along the rim trail is a manageable challenge if heights do not concern your party. The rim trail shares many breathtaking views and dramatic overlooks. Taking time to enjoy is a great plan. Along the way we visited Trail View Overlook an impressive shuttle stop. Stairs down below the canyon walls provides great views of the Famous Bright Angel Trail, The Grand Canyon Village and much more. Upon returning to The Village a short few steps up the path brings us to The Bright Angel Trailhead and soon thereafter hotels with food and beverage rewards from a good day on the trail. As always; plan your journeys to be on trails Early avoiding the heat of the day. Begin hydration preparation the day before, bring and drink plenty of liquids and enjoy snacks high in carbohydrates.
