“Glow in the Everglades” is a peaceful Everglades sunset painted in oils, inspired by the quiet beauty and atmosphere of wild Florida. In this oil painting demo, I walk through my process of building depth and mood into the landscape while discussing edges, soft transitions, atmosphere, and how subtle control of values can create a sense of glowing light across the marsh. Throughout the painting, I also talk about mixing oil paint colors for warm sunset skies, reflective water, distant haze, and the rich natural greens of the Everglades. You’ll see how lost and found edges help create softness and distance, and how carefully placed warm highlights can make certain areas of a painting glow with light.
