14.ª Rota da Mamoa reuniu 600 ciclistas e caminhada solidária em Aveiro

The 14th edition of the Rota da Mamoa once again brought life to Aveiro this weekend, gathering 600 cyclists and dozens of participants in the solidarity walk, which this year was dedicated to the fight against cancer. The event, already a landmark on the municipality's sporting calendar, started and finished at Cais da Fonte Nova, near the Aracaju Cultural and Congress Center. Throughout the morning, participants divided themselves into three available routes: the 60 km Marathon, the 40 km Half Marathon, and the 8 km Walk, the latter with strong participation from families and groups who wanted to join the charitable cause. The organizers highlighted the atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual support that characterized the entire initiative. The race proceeded without incident, with athletes completing the course within the maximum time of five hours. The mandatory use of helmets, respect for signage, and the support of the teams on the ground contributed to a safe and successful edition. Throughout the route, participants had access to food, rest areas, and, at the end, showers and bicycle washing facilities. The solidarity walk, part of the official program for the first time, aimed to support institutions involved in the fight against cancer, reinforcing the community and social character of the event. Participation exceeded expectations, with many participants highlighting the importance of combining sport and solidarity.
