Episode 16 - Y Garn, Foel Goch, Mynedd Perfedd // Wales - Nuttalls - Mountains - Glyders Range

This Episode is likely to be the last older movies I share, filmed in November 2021. My objective for the day was to bag the Northern most tops of the Glyders. Sod’s Law dictated that these were the only tops in cloud during the day! Starting at Ogwen Cottage, I headed up Y Garn first, before picking up Foel Goch, Mynedd Perfedd and the two tops of Carnedd Y Filiast. After this I continued North to pick up a lesser used path that took me back into the valley before beginning the long walk back to the van. Overall, the weather was excellent, revealing fantastic views of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the Carneddau, Tryfan and Elidir Fawr. During this walk I tried out a new action camera for the first part, which proved to be a disaster, with poor - over saturated footage. It took many hours manually adjusting the colour balance of each clip to get the footage acceptable, and its still not great. After this, I stuck to the Crosstour action cams I had used before. About Rudolph’s Mountains Welcome to the Rudolph’s Mountains channel, which records my journey to visit all the mountains in England and Wales over 2000ft, known as The Nuttalls. They were named after John & Anne Nuttall, who researched and created the initial list of tops, and published quite excellent books on how you could visit them all. I don’t always follow their routes, as I prefer to research the route myself, but I always use their route as a starting point. I have been making movies of my days in the mountains for a couple of years now, initially just to share my adventures with friends and family. I can’t get out all the time, due to family and work commitments, so it’s going to take many years to get through them all, health permitting. Each Episode is edited down from the original movie to around 30 minutes or less and then released on a Saturday at 12 noon. There won’t be a movie every week though. Each Episode has subtitles, as even I can’t understand what I’m saying half of the time! If you are planning to venture out on the hills yourself, please make sure you research your route and that you are properly prepared. Always check the mountain weather and ground condition forecast, but don’t trust it! Mountain weather can be unpredictable, so prepare for the worst.
