I ALMOST Skunked… Then FOUND Them! | Great Sacandaga Lake Tournament

Stop #2 of the Adirondack Kayak Bass Fishing Trail brought me back to Great Sacandaga Lake — a fishery that has always challenged me. What started with blinding fog quickly turned into calm conditions, bluebird skies, and a serious grind to find quality fish. For most of the day, I completely skunked and honestly felt completely out of the tournament. But when the wind finally picked up, I located an area where smallmouth bass were ambushing bait, and everything changed fast. A ned rig and jerkbait ended up saving my day, and I managed to land all of my fish in about an hour to finish with a respectable limit. This tournament taught me a lot about resiliency, staying mentally locked in, and never giving up even when things feel impossible.
