I Finally Found the Summer Pattern on Cayuga Lake!

Can Cayuga Lake finally produce my personal best largemouth bass? I'm back on Cayuga Lake as I continue my quest to catch a 6-pound largemouth bass, and this trip had plenty of surprises. I started by targeting shallow water, but after finding giant carp stirring up a bay, I made a move offshore to isolated grass. That decision changed everything. Fishing a Magdraft swimbait and a Neko Rig, I found a school of bass that was stacked up in the grass, leading to one fish after another and one of my most enjoyable summer days on the water. But when I went looking for bigger fish, I discovered that much of the vegetation had been sprayed or was dying, making the bite much tougher than expected. Even though I couldn't quite top my personal best, the search continues—and every trip gets me one cast closer.
