दिल्ली की सड़कों पर Share Auto Rikshaw में सवारीयों को लूटने वाले 2 शातिर बदमाश Rohini से गिरफ्तार

Delhi Police has busted an auto-rickshaw gang that targeted lone passengers, especially migrant workers and daily wage labourers, by offering them cold drinks laced with Ativan sedative tablets before robbing them of cash, mobile phones and luggage. The Ranjeet Nagar Police Station of Central District arrested Raj Kumar alias Raj, an auto-rickshaw driver from Rohini, and Kasim alias Salman of Begumpur. Police said Kasim is a habitual offender with six previous criminal cases involving robbery, theft and drugging victims. The case came to light after a complaint on June 27. The victim was waiting at Janki Das Bus Stand on Naraina Road when he was persuaded to share an auto-rickshaw. During the ride, another accomplice joined them and the victim was offered a cold drink secretly mixed with Ativan. After he lost consciousness, the accused robbed him of his Oppo 5G phone, around ₹15,000 in cash, a backpack and other belongings, before abandoning him in a deserted area. Acting under the supervision of DCP Rohit Rajbir Singh, a police team led by the SHO and SI Sumit Singh solved the blind case within three days by analysing CCTV footage from Naraina Road, Shadipur Flyover, Patel Road, Moti Nagar, Kirti Nagar and surrounding areas. Technical surveillance led police to auto driver Raj Kumar, whose interrogation resulted in Kasim's arrest. Police recovered the auto-rickshaw used in the crime, the stolen Oppo 5G phone, an Infinix mobile phone, ₹9,000 in cash, and other stolen property. Examination of the recovered phones also helped solve two more robbery cases registered at Paschim Vihar East and Naraina police stations. Police are now investigating the source of the restricted Ativan tablets and suspect the gang may be linked to more similar robberies. The case is another reminder for commuters never to accept food or drinks from strangers while travelling, particularly in shared transport.
