Is a suspension overhaul even worthwhile on a roughly 25-year-old Honda CBR 600? In this video, we show you the problems with the original suspension, what we changed on the fork and shock, and how the motorcycle rides after the overhaul. A key issue was the insufficient compression damping on the front fork. This caused the front end to dive too quickly under abrupt braking, resulting in instability at the rear. At the same time, there was comparatively high rebound damping at the rear axle, preventing the shock from rebounding quickly enough. ...
