A small, abandoned bungalow in the Thuringian Forest. Remote, not marked on any map – and probably the kind of place that will be featured in this one and only urban exploration video. We deliberately chose this lost place as our first Lost Place of 2026. Not because things have been quiet for us – quite the opposite. Behind the scenes, things have been extremely busy, hectic, and demanding lately. From the outside, things seemed calmer around the LostPlaceFamilie YouTube channel, but internally, the exact opposite was true. That's precisely why we wanted to start with a small, quiet place again. Not a large industrial site, not a mammoth project, but a classic urban exploration lost place in Germany that you can explore at your leisure – a pure urban exploration experience, reduced to the essentials. In the video, we take you along on the journey there, make a short detour along the way, and explore the bungalow step by step. Towards the end of the video, we also discuss why there has been less activity around LostPlaceFamilie, Urbex, and YouTube in recent weeks – and why this particular location was the perfect way for us to kick off the new year.
