🔥 ¿AV. ARENALES es MÁS RÁPIDA que la CICLOVÍA AREQUIPA en HORA PUNTA? | Cercado a Miraflores

This time, returning south from San Juan de Lurigancho, I started my ride from Alameda 28 de Julio. But for a change, instead of returning via the bike path on Avenida Arequipa, I decided to try the alternate route along Avenida Arenales. Let's see if it reduces the total time and if it's worth using this route around 7:30 a.m., right in the middle of Saturday rush hour. Normally, I would take the bike path on Avenida Arequipa, which is approximately 7.4 km to Larcomar. But today I'm taking a detour via Arenales and other connecting roads. This alternate route is approximately 8.4 km, meaning one kilometer longer. Let's see if the clock rewards or punishes us for choosing the longer route during rush hour. Avenida República de Chile. Avenida General Juan Antonio Álvarez de Arenales. Avenida Javier Prado. Bike path on Calle Ollanta. Bike path on Avenida Daniel Hernández. Paz Soldán Bike Path Pancho Fierro Street Choquehuanca Street Arenales Extension Coronel Inclán Street Atahualpa Street Martyr José Olaya Street Diagonal Avenue Alfredo Benavides Avenue Colón Street Comandante O. Donovan Street Larcomar. The total travel time along Arenales was 31 minutes, obeying every traffic light. To give you an idea of ​​the difference: I reviewed my previous trips on the Arequipa bike path during this same rush hour, and the average was 40 minutes due to the large number of traffic lights and the volume of bicycles and personal mobility vehicles (PMVs). I covered one kilometer more of the route, but shaved 9 minutes off my travel time. A considerable reduction. In conclusion: it's a good alternative for speeding up your trip. The difference is clear: in Arequipa you have the security of a protected bike lane (which is always recommended), and in Arenales you gain fluidity, but at the cost of sharing the road with cars, which requires much more attention and experience.
