中国江苏北部特色美食,项羽故里传统味
Hello everyone, I'm Allen. Southern Fujian holds a gentle, traditional flavor, while Northern Jiangsu retains a bold, Western Chu spirit. This is Suqian, the hometown of Xiang Yu, in northern Jiangsu. Lacking the delicate sweetness of southern Jiangsu, this small city in northern Jiangsu, with its bustling morning markets and vibrant vegetable markets, hides the most simple and profound human touch of the Yellow River and Huai River regions. As dawn breaks, Suqian's breakfast streets awaken. Fires rise, voices murmur, freshly baked flatbreads are crisp and fragrant, authentic spicy soups are warm and mellow, and pancakes rolled with local fermented soybeans and scrambled eggs are the taste of Suqian's mornings etched into its very bones. Tofu rolls, fried buns, handmade porridge, and freshly baked noodles—no elaborate plating, just hearty bowls, savory and flavorful Northern-style food, every bite brimming with the unique, robust character of northern Jiangsu. Stepping into the old city's vegetable market is the best window to understanding Suqian's flavors. A dazzling array of lake and river delicacies, local seasonal fruits and vegetables, handmade braised dishes, and rustic pickled vegetables showcase the bounty of Luoma Lake and Hongze Lake. Unlike the delicate sweetness of Jiangnan cuisine, Northern Jiangsu cuisine possesses a hearty and unpretentious character, with large bowls of stew, stir-fries cooked over a smoky fire, and the pure essence of ingredients, reflecting the bold spirit of the Western Chu region. Two thousand years ago, Xiang Yu rose to power here, displaying his upright character and grand ambition; two thousand years later, the local food continues this simple and hearty spirit. A city shrouded in morning mist, streets brimming with the aroma of cooking fires—the flavors of ordinary morning markets are the most authentic taste of Northern Jiangsu's Western Chu region. If you're tired of the gentle charm of Southern Jiangsu, consider visiting Suqian in Northern Jiangsu. Experience a different kind of vibrant life on the shores of the Yellow River and Huai River in the bustling morning markets and lively vegetable markets.
