In this video, I'll take you on a discovery of the splendid Salto Valley, a pearl of the Maggia Valley in the Canton of Ticino. A circular route rich in history, nature, and rural architecture. Highlights: Maggia and the Vineyards: The trail begins in the center of the village and ascends alongside the typical terraced vineyards. Chapel of Santa Maria della Pioda: Situated on a panoramic promontory, it offers magnificent views of the village and the Maggia Valley. Salto Waterfall: One of the area's symbols, with a 61-meter drop that can be admired from the first stretches of the trail. Historic Trail and Perched Maggenghi: Along the way, you'll travel along ancient paved paths and stone steps, passages carved into the rock, and small bridges, surrounded by characteristic Ticino mountain pastures. Braiaa Chapel: A small gem housing frescoes by local painter Giovanni Antonio Vanoni (1861) In Pisciola: The highest point of the tour (about 950 m), ideal for a panoramic stop before beginning the descent to the opposite side of the valley. Ponte del Salto: A picturesque bridge that allows you to cross the Rio del Salto and enjoy the view of the gorges carved by the water.
