★ 4K 🇫🇷 Lyon-Perrache - Saint-Pierre-des-Corps (Tours) cab ride, France [01.2024]

This new video explores a line that has not yet been released on Youtube: the Lyon-Nantes cross-country route. We'll be travelling from Lyon-Perrache to St-Pierre-des-Corps aboard an Intercity train operating with a B85000 in early 2024. At a distance of 476 km, our journey will take us across a short section of the majestic PLM (Paris Railway) before branching off towards Roanne, where thermal traction is still in use, notably crossing the famous Tarare viaduct and the steep Ramp "des Sauvages", with gradients reaching 26‰. The section to St-Germain-des-Fossés has already been explored in another video, as has the one to Nevers, but in the opposite direction. We then continue along the Cher River and through Berry towards Tours, where we cross the Yèvre River several times. Note the relatively recent electrification of this section of track at 25kV, and the relatively flat profile now extends all the way to St-Pierre-des-Corps.
