This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. It explores the challenges and obstacles that teachers and educators face throughout their careers. Cecilia demonstrates that we must overcome "the limits of what is possible." For 20 years, she has worked on educational technology projects with institutions ranging from Discovery Kids to Plan Ceibal, developing ideas such as Adaptive Math Platforms and the National Olympiads with XO laptops. As a teacher, she observed the unequal access to education in rural areas of the country. This led her to found Edúcate Uruguay, an NGO dedicated to modernizing rural education with new technologies. With one foot in the local community and the other in international trends, she leads the Global Partnership of New Pedagogies for Deep Learning program in Uruguay. About TEDx, x = independently organized event. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
