Gothic Remake: Recovering the Free Mine

Riordian informed me that Gorn was waiting for me near the Free Mine to help liberate it from the Reds. On the way there, I ran into Wolf, who told me about his plan to craft armor from minecrawler plates. And at that moment, I immediately realized one thing - there were definitely going to be minecrawlers in the Free Mine. The Reds had turned the place into an absolute slaughterhouse. Bodies everywhere. Blood everywhere. I searched the entire mine and didn't find a single living soul. From a gameplay perspective, it felt a little strange that there weren't any dead Reds lying around. I understand that it was supposed to be an ambush and all that, but not a single dead guard? The mine was defended by Mercenaries and Bandits. Surely someone should have managed to take down at least one of the attackers. But oh well. The mine was under the command of Jackal. Back in the Old Camp, he had always seemed fairly reasonable to me. Apparently, he had hated me all along. Well, that's one less enemy to worry about now. The Free Mine itself is huge. If you include the exterior sections, it might even be larger than the Old Mine. Fortunately, that didn't stop us from clearing it. Though Gorn turned out to be a bit too bloodthirsty. He was killing diggers as well. Revenge does things to people, I suppose. We also killed plenty of minecrawlers along the way. And afterward, I took down the Minecrawler boss, the Tyrant. As it turns out, Ball Lightning works surprisingly well against giant bugs. I also found Ur-Shak's friend. Which means that the only thing left now is to start hunting down the Colony's true apex predators for their trophies.
