Gothic Remake: Sleeper's Temple
It was really tough. The Sleeper's Temple feels like an elite dungeon from some other game. Elite enemies, mini-bosses, super-bosses... I don't know how things are for melee fighters, especially since I'm wearing fighter armor myself, but as a mage, this place was brutal. Two or three hits and you're dead. But against regular enemies, freezing spells and Death to the Undead worked surprisingly well. Bosses, however, were a completely different story. For some reason, I remember freezing and other crowd-control effects working on bosses in the original game. They definitely don't work now. So I had to improvise and rely on the ancient strategy of hit-run-hit-run. Unfortunately, that approach completely fell apart when it came to demons. They constantly restricted the space available for maneuvering, and dodging their thrown attacks felt almost impossible. At this point, I'm starting to think that investing in Acrobatics might actually have been a good idea. Maybe that should be the goal for the next episode. For the first demon, I summoned a golem and let it tank for me. The problem is that I only had enough resources to summon two golems. There were four demons. And the second demon was already strong enough to tear through a golem surprisingly quickly. Fortunately, I noticed some strange pillars in each of the rooms. And in this game, when a mage can't kill something, the natural solution is to climb somewhere the enemy can't reach. So you can probably guess what happened next. Yes. I climbed onto the pillars. The shamans themselves are fairly dangerous, though each one has its own abilities. Most of them, however, die after three casts of Death to the Undead. Some of their spells hit surprisingly hard, though. On the bright side, they drop runes. Which basically means money. Not that money matters all that much at this point in the game. Though I suppose I can always spend it on even more mana potions. Anyway, I think I've finally cleared the entire temple. I now possess that strange sword, and Xardas is encouraging me to betray the Water Mages. I understand that this is simply where the story is heading and that I probably don't have much of a choice. But... I DON'T WANT TO BETRAY THE WATER MAGES!
