Site 4D | SOI Divestream 949

This 14-hour dive at Site 4D will focus on bubble streams detected at a slump feature during mapping on this expedition, but which have not been visually confirmed. These bubble streams may represent unknown and unexplored seeps. Specifically, the dive will begin just north of the bubble streams to allow for exploration of the suspected seeps. After which, the slump and potential scarp will be explored. Signs of seepage/fluid flow/bubbles and/or high-density animal communities will be sought along the dive track. The dive will undertake scientific exploration, measurements with the temperature probe, deployment of experimental packages (10 on/off seep each), video transects, as well as biological and Niskin sampling.
