BEAUTIFUL 1400FPM 1993 Hitachi Traction High Rise Elevators at Shinjuku i-LAND Tower in Tokyo, Japan

Filmed on July 11th, 2025 with ‎‪@PNWElevatorAviation‬ Unfortunately, as you can see, these elevators and this building were ABSOLUTELY PACKED when me and Riley were here, so I do apologize for this video not being the greatest, but I'm definitely glad I got to ride these elevators at all and that I did at the time I did! These elevators were ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL with Fixtures that resemble Otis Circle Touch (even though they're early 90s elevators with digital touch buttons), BEAUTIFUL Chrome COPs, COOL Chimes, and despite being over 30 years old, these elevators run PERFECTLY Smooth unlike High Rise elevators installed within the exact same era in the U.S., and these go at a VERY RESPECTABLE 1400 FPM and all in all, these are another perfect example of Amazing High Rise Japanese Elevators. Unfortunately though, these elevators are in the process of being fully modernized if not completely replaced by Hitachi, however the mod project started back in 2023 according to several Japanese Elevator Channels, and as of Mid 2025, only 2 out of the 6 elevators in this bank have completed replacement, so these won't be fully going away for at least a couple more years. With that said, I'd definitely check these out while you can! For those wondering, no I did not ride any of the replaced elevators here as there were a lot of people in the building and i didn't want to overstay my welcome, but at least they'll be here for me next time whenever/if I make it back to Tokyo, I'm definitely glad I got to see and enjoy the original elevators here when I did!
