ROCKETING 1800 FPM Hitachi Traction Elevators at The Shinjuku Nomura Building in Tokyo, Japan

Filmed on July 11th, 2025 with ‪@PNWElevatorAviation‬ These are the last of the 1800 FPM Elevators I filmed in Tokyo as I sadly was unaware the Shiodome City Center existed when I went, but I'm still definitely happy with what I did get to see, and similarly to all of the others I saw here, these were pretty amazing and impressive. I do definitely agree with what I Forgot My Name said about these to an extent as these do feel less punchy compared to the Sumitomo, Sunshine60 and Mitsui Buildings, but I do have a lot of respect for Hitachi's engineering in making such a fast elevator go so smooth, and I also find it amazing how all of the buildings in the Shinjuku area went this fast when they were built and for the amount of floors. Unfortunately, similar to the Mitsui Building, these elevators were unfortunately pretty busy when I went, but I still did get to experience these going full speed both going up and down, and I got a little bit more time on these elevators to myself and Riley so this video definitely could've turned out worse. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Analog indicator on these and that they installed a new one that looks SUPER FUTURISTIC when they Modernized these and just watching it move at the speed it does is the coolest thing ever, and I love the futuristic cabs and gorgeous lobby in this building too. Japan definitely does more tasteful mods than any other country it seems, and these elevators are certainly no exception. All in all, amazing elevators, and certainly worth checking out just as much as the other Shinjuku area office buildings. Installed in 1978.
