Thomas and High Speed Train on the Nene Valley Railway | 27th June 2026

A hot and sunny Saturday on the Nene Valley Railway in Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire as we go on a High Speed Train to see Thomas on his branch line trains. The Nene Valley Railway is located West of East Anglia in Cambridgeshire at Peterborough, Orton Mere, Ferry Meadows and in Northamptonshire at Yarwell and Wansford, the railway runs along the countryside and the River Nene which leads to Wisbech and the coast of Sutton Bridge. We begin at Peterborough Nene Valley Station to take the Class 43 HST High Speed Train to Orton Mere, Overton for Ferry Meadows and Wansford, then we take Thomas' shuttle train from Wansford to Yarwell Junction and Yarwell Junction back to Wansford. The Class 43 HST Power Cars are owned by the 125 Group that run mainline railtours, and No. 1800 was named 'Thomas' by the Reverend Wilbert Audrey himself, and has always been based at the Nene Valley Railway. We see some train movements at Wansford Station and then we take the High Speed Train back to Peterborough Nene Valley.
