North Norfolk Railway the Poppy Line | 30th June 2026

A cloudy, rainy and sunny Tuesday on the North Norfolk Railway the Poppy Line in Norfolk East Anglia. The North Norfolk Railway is part of the former Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway, and today has a mainline connection from Sheringham along the Bittern Line to places such as West Runton, Cromer, Hoverton & Wroxham for the Bure Valley Railway, Salhouse and Norwich, and also serves heritage trains from Sheringham to Weybourne, Kelling Heath Park Halt and Holt. We begin at Sheringham Station by taking the train hauled by Standard 4 Tank 80080 from Sheringham to Holt and Holt to Weybourne, we have a look around and see steam and diesel trains including 'Newstead' on "The North Norfolkman" dining train at Weybourne Station and then we take the steam train back to Sheringham. We then have a brief visit to Wells-Next-The-Sea Harbour at East Fleet, it is the sight where the nearby Wells & Walsingham Light Railway is, and the now closed Wells Harbour Railway used to be, but never say never to the railway to be reopened. We then go back to Sheringham for Sheringham Mainline Station and the coastal beach with the sight of the sea.
