During the operation, police arrested 30 notorious auto-lifters and recovered 64 stolen vehicles, including 61 two-wheelers and three four-wheelers. According to the police, the operation also led to the detection of 64 motor vehicle theft cases. The special drive was launched under the directions of Dwarka District DCP Kushal Pal Singh. The objective was not just to recover stolen vehicles but also to dismantle the gangs involved in stealing, storing, and selling stolen vehicles. Police teams from all police stations and operational units across the district participated in the operation, which was led by the Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS). For 72 hours, police teams worked round the clock. Raids were conducted at locations where stolen vehicles were suspected to be hidden, while several suspects were kept under surveillance. Intensive picket checking was carried out across the district, and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology was used to identify stolen vehicles moving on the roads. Among those arrested were 17 repeat offenders who had previously been jailed in multiple vehicle theft cases. Police also apprehended four "Bad Characters" (BCs)—habitual criminals who were already under police surveillance. Out of the 64 recovered vehicles, 36 were found at identified parking locations where thieves had temporarily hidden them after the theft. Another 23 vehicles were recovered directly from habitual auto-lifters. Three vehicles were seized during routine picket checking, while two were traced using ANPR technology. Police officials said the operation targeted not only vehicle thieves but also receivers who purchased, sold, or concealed stolen vehicles. Interrogation of the accused has yielded several important leads, and investigators are now working to uncover the entire network behind these thefts. According to Dwarka Police, the operation has dealt a major blow to organized vehicle theft gangs operating in the district. The arrested suspects are being questioned further, and police expect more theft cases to be solved in the coming days. Officials have also appealed to citizens to remain vigilant, park their vehicles securely, and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
