The accused allegedly stole six silver bricks weighing around one kilogram each, four gold chains, four gold bangles, one complete gold set, approximately 50 grams of additional gold, two gold rings, one pair of gold earrings, one silver pot, one silver utensil, clothes and other valuable household articles. When the family returned home, they found their cupboards ransacked and years of savings in the form of jewellery and precious items missing. As soon as the burglary was reported, Kirti Nagar Police launched an investigation. Preliminary findings suggested that the accused had carefully surveyed the house before committing the crime. After confirming that the house was unoccupied, he entered the premises and systematically searched cupboards and storage spaces where valuables were likely to be kept. Within a short span of time, he collected the jewellery and other expensive items before fleeing the spot. Considering the seriousness of the offence, the police initiated an extensive investigation using technical surveillance and local intelligence. CCTV footage from nearby areas was examined, suspects were tracked and continuous surveillance eventually led the police to a young man identified as Ajay Sahni alias AJ, aged 21. During interrogation, Ajay confessed to the burglary. Based on his disclosure, the police recovered a substantial portion of the stolen property, including three silver bricks weighing approximately three kilograms, two gold chains, three gold bangles, two gold rings, one pair of gold earrings, one silver pot and one silver utensil. Police officials said efforts are continuing to recover the remaining stolen valuables. The accused, Ajay Sahni, son of Late Pappu Sahni, is a resident of New Shyam Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Delhi, and originally belongs to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. His identical twin brother, Vijay, works as a car mechanic in Delhi. During investigation, police also found that Ajay was addicted to ganja and had developed links with anti-social elements, which allegedly pushed him further into criminal activities. Police records revealed that Ajay has a criminal history. He has previously been involved in cases registered at Rajouri Garden Police Station, Hari Nagar Police Station, and Subhash Place Police Station. Investigators are now trying to ascertain whether he acted alone or had accomplices in the burglary and where the remaining stolen property has been hidden. The case was successfully solved by the team of Police Station Kirti Nagar. Acting under the direction of DCP West Hareeshwar V. Swami, IPS, and the supervision of senior officers, a dedicated team comprising ASI Sunil, ASI Raj Kumar, ASI Joginder, Head Constable Mahabir, Constable Naveen and Constable Harish worked relentlessly on the case. Through technical evidence, CCTV analysis, local intelligence and sustained surveillance, the team traced and arrested the accused. Police said the investigation is still underway and efforts are being made to recover the remaining stolen property and identify any other persons involved in the crime.
