GALLETAS NEWTON DE GUAYABA las famosas americanas, muy fáciles de hacer

These guava-paste-filled cookies are more modern because they were originally made with fig paste and still exist, and even with other fruits. All are divine. But today we're going to make the guava-paste version that everyone loves. They're easy to make and even easier to eat because they're delicious. With this recipe, we make approximately 32 cookies. INGREDIENTS: For the dough: 280g Self-Raising Wheat Flour. If using all-purpose flour, add 1/2 teaspoon of Baking Powder. = 2 Cups 110g Sugar = 1/2 cup 140g Unsalted Butter or Margarine (preferably) = 7 tablespoons 1 Egg 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Essence 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon 1 Pinch of Salt For the filling: Approx. 1 Cup Guava Jam or Jam = 300g approximately. PREPARATION: To make the dough for the Newton cookies, add all the ingredients to the flour and knead for approximately one and a half minutes. When finished, you should have a soft, smooth, and pleasant-to-the-touch dough. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm enough; 1 hour is sufficient. Now it's time to prepare the filling. If you're using a hard candy, add a little hot water and mash with a fork until you get a smooth paste. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Take the cold dough from the refrigerator, sprinkle flour on a work surface, and roll it out with a rolling pin. The dough will become sticky as it heats; it's best to do this quickly and avoid adding more flour than necessary. Roll out the dough until it's thin. Now cut the dough into 4 strips, so you'll have 4 long, thin rectangles. Place a quarter of the mixture in the center and along the length of each rectangle. Carefully fold one side over the guava mixture, then fold the other side over, sealing the mixture, creating a kind of roll. Repeat with the remaining strips of dough. Flatten slightly to give the shape of the cookies. Cut the cookies 2 fingers thick and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 180°C for 12 to 15 or up to 20 minutes, depending on the oven, until they puff up and brown around the edges; they shouldn't brown too much on top. Remove from the oven, let cool well, and eateee!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ice Cream Joey Pecoraro Dance and Electronic Music | Happy
