Mid Hants Railway Spring Steam Gala | 24th, 25th April 2026

A hot and sunny Friday and Saturday on the Mid Hants Railway the Watercress Line in Hampshire as they have their Spring Steam Gala. We begin at Alton Station by taking the S15's train to Alresford to see the trains at Alresford Station, we then take Canadian Pacific's train to Alton and Ropley, at Ropley Station we see a non-stop express steam train and many more trains, we then take the J94's train to Medstead & Four Marks to see the trains at Medstead & Four Marks Station, we then take the Standard 5's train back to Alton. The next day, we take the Standard 5's train from Alton to Ropley to see lots of action at Ropley Station and yard, due to the heatwave, a Class 20 diesel locomotive was called out to put out a fire on the line between Alresford and Ropley that was caused by the Furness engine. We see steam trains, freight trains and non-stop express trains at Ropley Station, and then we take Canadian Pacific's train back to Alton and see the trains at Alton Station.
