Ne Waza Fundamentals Seminar - (Clip 2) - Kata of Escapes Explained and Knee on Belly - Uki Gatame

This video consists of 4 clips from a seminar on Ne waza Fundamentals. The seminar was hosted by Seishin Karate Club in Sheffield and it was to introduce essential concepts in ne waza for karate students. Clip 1 briefly explains the notion of Nige no Kata: The kata of escapes and demonstrates the first principle, to pass the guard from standing. Clip 2 adds further detail on the first osaikomi waza and position within the kata which is Uki gatame also known as knee on belly position. Clip 3 then looks further at self defense applications from the mount the subsequent movement in the kata dealing with hook punches. Clip 4 looks at a counter to Uki gatame and self defence applications from punches from that position.
