Karate Jutsu - Seminar Clip - Positions of Mechanical Disadvantage & Kata Gatame

This video is a collection of clips from part of a special charity seminar. The first clip is shot from a wide angle at distance with the rest much closer. Some of the key themes being explored were strategic positions of mechanical advantage and some foundational principles such as the adjacent joint principle and strangulation mechanics. We also explored some variations of Kata Gatame, Ushiro Ude Garami and Juji Gatame. The opening movements were all taken from Naihanchi applications however since the majority of participants weren't karateka these points were not over emphasised. Organised by Mark Watson SMSC Phase IV Parabellum was a special charity seminar aiming to raise money for Dogs4Rescue. Final total from the day was £1800.
