Die verbleibenden BLS Re 4/4 – Autozug‑Einsätze am Lötschberg und Simplon | SwissRails

On January 11, 2026, I traveled on the Lötschberg and Simplon routes, aiming to capture some footage of the „Bruneli“ (BLS Re 4/4) before it’s too late. The days of the BLS Re 4/4 are slowly but surely numbered, and today they are almost exclusively found in car train service. Of the original 35 locomotives, only 6 remain, 5 of which are operational. On this day, I was lucky enough to see all five operational machines, record them, and show them to you in the video. These operations will not last much longer – even the car trains with the Bruneli will soon be history. So let’s enjoy it while we still can.
