What a Japanese Mom Cooks for Her Sons: Loaded Homemade Somen Japanese Cold Noodles

Today, I made Japanese cold noodles called "SOMEN," which is a very popular home-cooked dish in Japan during the hot summer months. Somen is typically served with just a few simple toppings like green onions or seaweed. However, since I have two teenage sons, I always make it "loaded" with lots of toppings to make sure they get full! Today, I topped the somen with steamed chicken, scrambled eggs, chikuwa (Japanese fish cakes), and cucumber. Usually, we eat it by dipping the noodles into a savory sauce called "tsuyu." However, thanks to a comment from a kind viewer, I realized that I completely forgot to film the part where we actually prepare and dip them! 😅 In this video, I filmed the process of preparing this loaded somen lunch and tidying up the kitchen afterward.
