I'll explain the full scope of healing theory. I don't fundamentally think of mental care, self-care, and mental training as separate things. I believe that all mental care is fundamentally connected to mental training, so I practice it myself. It's a method I've used to solve problems in my own clinical practice and while facing my own problems, and it's also something I've learned while working with patients in clinical practice. Based on textbook-based knowledge, I've selected, emphasized, and toned down some things, and this is the result of summarizing various things, so I hope you'll listen to the end, as it's a great value. If you're a regular listener, you might think this is the same old thing, but if you're a regular video viewer, please listen to it with the audio. It's the beginning of the year, so why not? ◼︎The Mind is the Brain Basically, the mind is made up of the brain. The brain is a collection of neurons made up of proteins. Data, past memories, experiences, and knowledge are installed within it, and the phenomenon known as our mind occurs. The phenomenon known as consciousness occurs. It is also influenced by external stimuli, such as what is currently entering through your eyes. So, what makes up the mind? It's made up of three elements: a genetically generated brain structure, data, the experiences, learnings, and knowledge you've accumulated, memory data, and your current environment. Illness can occur when there's a problem with the brain or memory data, such as trauma, resulting in cognitive distortions. You may be experiencing sexual harassment, power harassment, various problems at school or work, or troubles in relationships, which can cause you to feel unwell. These are the elements that make up the mind. That's what causes distortions. If there's a problem with the brain, medication can be used to adjust it, and the brain itself needs to be adjusted as a body. If there's a problem with the data, or if there's a problem with trauma, memory or way of thinking, the data needs to be corrected by relearning. If the current environment is bad, you can move away from it, or if environmental adjustments are necessary, or if you can't do anything about it on your own, you can use the welfare system. When you're in such a pathological state, you're controlled by emotions, trauma, common sense and so on, and you're not able to make rational choices, you're unable to select the optimal solution. So the goal of treatment isn't to become happy or anything like that, but to be able to treat yourself like a different person, to treat yourself rationally, to be able to treat yourself calmly, without being controlled by emotions, trauma or common sense. People with depression have an active amygdala and reduced function of what's known as the frontal lobe. In other words, the part of the brain that feels anxiety is active, but activity in the rational part of the frontal lobe is reduced. In people who have recovered from depression, the amygdala, which is responsible for anxiety, is active, but the frontal lobe is also active, at the same time. In other words, it's a state in which anxiety is suppressed by the power of reason. This is the goal of treatment, so it doesn't necessarily mean that anxiety or trauma will go away. Of course. As long as a human being is alive, such thing...
