Bangda Fish Fry (Indian Mackerel Fry) Ingredients Bangda (Indian mackerel), cleaned and slit Turmeric powder Red chili powder Homemade masala powder Lemon juice Salt to taste Gram or rice flour Semolina (rava) (optional, for extra crispiness) 2–3 tbsp oil for shallow frying Method Wash and clean the fish. Make 2–3 slits on both sides. Apply turmeric powder, red chili powder, home made powder, lemon juice, and salt evenly to the fish, including inside the slits. Marinate for 30 minutes. Coat the fish lightly with gram flour or rice flour and semolina. Heat oil in a pan. Shallow fry the fish on medium heat for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
