Enam Suresi Tefsiri | 91-94. Ayetler | Tefsir&Yorum B0302 | Seyfettin Huca
How does the unique narrative structure of the Holy Quran engrave a single truth into our hearts with so many different styles and interpretations? How inconsistent is it that while a person's body needs water from the sky, their soul rejects the light of revelation descending from the sky? In the 302nd chapter of our commentary on Surah Al-An'am (verses 91-94), we examine the root of all forms of religious deviation: the misconception of "failing to appreciate God properly," the fate of those who tarnish revelation and prophethood with fabricated claims, and the reality of the "individual" human being who will stand alone before God on the Day of Judgment, stripped of all worldly ties. Thematic Unity and Stylistic Diversity of the Quran: There is a tremendous thematic unity throughout the Quran. However, this unity is not a repetition of a single theme in the same style; On the contrary, it is a rich art of rhetoric that includes very different approaches, examples, and striking twists around a single axis. * "And they did not appreciate God as He deserves": Whether it is denial that rejects God altogether, deist logic that limits authority to the heavens and does not involve human rights, or polytheism that introduces intermediaries; at the root of every kind of deviant belief lies the error of misdetermining God's value and right. * The Soul's Need for Revelation and Water: To accept that the physical body needs water from the sky, the sun, and the seasons to survive; but to say that the soul and consciousness, which make man a truly special being, do not need revelation from the sky for their vitality, is to accuse God of doing something absurd. * The Method of Interjection, Differences in Readings, and the Critique of Fallacies: While the context of the verse unfolds, a parenthetical note is made regarding the Jews turning the Torah into "papers" (written papers), revealing only what suited them and concealing most of it (the method of interpretation). In this lesson, we interpret this section through the differences in readings, shaped by both the second-person pronoun (tî) and the third-person pronoun (yî), and address the logical inconsistencies produced by the polytheists regarding the People of the Book. * The Greatest Oppressors Who Fabricate Lies in the Name of God: False prophets who deceive people by claiming "I too have received revelation" when nothing has been revealed to them, or those who open new doors of ruling in religion with claims of revelation, inspiration, or wakefulness, are the perpetrators of the greatest oppression. The only touchstone for Muslims in this regard is to weigh the claim against the scales of the Quran and authentic Sunnah. * "Furada" (Coming to the Divine Presence Individually): The communities, tribes, followers, and sanctified religious or political leaders to which one sought refuge in this world will be left behind; man will appear before God naked, stripped of his titles, and utterly alone, burdened only by his deeds, just as he was on the day he was first created. * The Delusion of Intercession and a Pure Heart: The delusion of relying on the intercession and favor of false intercessors will be a divine reproach. The only solution is to place hope not in false support but in God's mercy, and to arrive at His presence with a "pure heart," using faith and righteous deeds as a means to reach that mercy. --- 📖 Translations of the Interpreted Verses (Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate) Surah Al-An'am, Verse 91: They did not appreciate the power of God as they should have. For they said, "God has not sent down anything to any human being." Say: "Who sent down the Book which Moses brought to mankind as a light and guidance, which you have laid down in fragments, but concealed much of it, and in which you have been taught things that neither you nor your forefathers knew?" Say, "Allah," then leave them to wallow in their own mire. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 92: This (Quran) is a blessed Book which We have sent down to warn the mother of cities (Mecca) and its inhabitants, confirming what came before it. Those who believe in the Hereafter also believe in it, and they continue to perform their prayers. Surah Al-An'am, Verse 93: Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah, or one who says, "Revelation has been given to me," when nothing has been revealed to him, or one who says, "I will reveal as Allah has revealed"? If only you could see the angels stretching out their hands, saying, "Take out your souls! Today you will be punished with a humiliating torment for your falsehood against Allah and for your arrogance against His verses!" as these oppressors drown in waves of death! Surah Al-An'am, Verse 94: And indeed, you have come to Us alone, one by one, just as We created you the first time. And you have left behind what We gave you in the world. And We do not see with you those whom you thought were partners with Allah in matters concer...
