Will 5 Inches of RAIN Ruin Our ENTIRE Season?
After 5 inches of rain, our farm is already a week behind — and more rain is on the way. In this episode, we’re fighting muddy fields, slow-ripening tomatoes, and a tight market schedule as we try to get cantaloupe and watermelon planted before the season gets away from us. This is the reality of farming: the bills don’t stop, the markets are coming, and we have to keep moving if we’re going to generate cash flow and make this season work. I’ll show you how wet the fields are, explain why getting melons in the ground matters so much, walk through our tomato cooler and storage setup, load tomatoes for our farmers market trucks, introduce a few of the crew, and finish the day with last-minute truck repairs before market morning. We managed to get about two-thirds of the melons planted, but the rest will have to wait until the field dries out. Can we catch up and salvage this crazy start to the season? Thanks for watching and following along with our farm through the highs, lows, mud, markets, and everything in between. #Farming #FarmVlog #VegetableFarm #FarmersMarket #MarketGarden #Watermelon #Cantaloupe #Tomatoes #RainDelay #FamilyFarm #FarmLife #SmallFarm #CashFlow #FarmBusiness
