Journalist Juan Pablo Pérez-Díaz questioned the arrest of Indigenous leader Jesús Plácido Galindo, which occurred after he publicly denounced alleged links between Guerrero state authorities and the Los Ardillos criminal group. The journalist noted that the leader of the Popular Indigenous Council of Guerrero (CONIGN) accused officials of drone attacks, forced displacement, and collusion between government officials and organized crime, and also pointed out that the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) had frozen his bank accounts. During his analysis, Pérez-Díaz highlighted that Jesús Plácido's family maintains that he was summoned by a state official and subsequently detained by members of the Army and the National Guard. The journalist stated that, given the context in which the events occurred, it is now up to the authorities to substantiate the accusations against him with evidence and dispel any doubts about a possible act of retaliation for his denunciations.
