Periodista confirma imputaciones a Ruffo, pero niega que sea el mayor 'huachicolero'

The daughter of former Baja California governor Ernesto Ruffo Appel asserted that her father was detained before a judge could review the evidence against him and demanded that the case be resolved according to the law. In an interview with Juan Pablo Pérez-Díaz, investigative journalist Raúl Olmos, author of the book "El huachicol fiscal" (The Tax Theft), explained that there are indications of irregularities in the operations of the company Ingemar, linked to Ruffo, although he believes the documented volumes do not correspond to the largest case of tax theft in the country, as the Attorney General's Office has maintained. Olmos detailed that the investigation points to a possible scheme of underreporting imported fuel, which would have allowed for tax evasion, and noted that such a mechanism could not operate without the participation or complicity of customs authorities. The journalist emphasized that the judicial process will determine responsibility, but called for a distinction between the documented evidence and the scale that has been publicly attributed to the case.
