La fragata Cristóbal Colón lidera la fuerza de respuesta inmediata de la OTAN en el Mediterráneo
La fuerza naval, conocida como SNMG2 (Standing Nato Maritime Group), representa la primera línea de actuación de la Alianza Atlántica ante cualquier incidente que se produzca en esta zona. Al frente de esta agrupación está actualmente la fragata más moderna de la Armada española, la F-105 Cristóbal Colón. El buque español comenzó este exigente despliegue el pasado mes de noviembre y tiene previsto regresar a su base en el Arsenal de Ferrol a principios de abril.
