Finally, I was able to stay at the long-aspired "Capella Shanghai"✨ I've passed by the hotel many times before and was captivated by its atmosphere, but I never had the chance to stay overnight in a place along my usual walking routes. However, because it's in my beloved French Concession, I really wanted to experience staying there... My wish was finally granted, and I enjoyed my long-awaited hotel stay! Seeing it in person, I was blown away by the luxurious ambiance and attentive hospitality, and I completely fell in love with it. The area around Songjiang Road (where the hotel is located in the Shikumen architecture zone) still vividly preserves the charm of the 1930s when Shanghai had a concession, making it feel like time has slipped back to that era. Unlike modern, glittering Shanghai, I’m convinced that I love the warm, historic, and cultural side of the city. Capella Shanghai is highly recommended for those who have visited Shanghai multiple times, live there, prefer the everyday and local atmosphere over flashy scenery, or seek a small luxury experience rather than a large city hotel.
